Browser extension privacy policy

What the extension does
The SecureGrid browser extension replaces personal and confidential data in prompts on ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Copilot with placeholders before the prompt is sent.
What data it handles
When you press Redact, the extension reads the text in the prompt field and sends it to the SecureGrid desktop app running on your own computer (http://127.0.0.1:53690). The app returns the redacted text and the list of placeholders with the values they replace. Nothing is sent to LumeSec or any other party.
What it stores
- A pairing token, in the browser’s extension storage, so the extension stays connected to your SecureGrid app.
- For each open tab, the last original and redacted prompt and the placeholder list, in the browser’s session memory only. They are never written to disk and are deleted when the tab closes or the browser quits.
The SecureGrid app keeps the mapping between placeholders and values in memory only, and forgets it when the tab closes or the app quits.
What it does not do
No analytics, no tracking, no advertising, no sale or sharing of data. The extension contacts no address other than the SecureGrid app on your computer.
The website, customer account and desktop app sign-in are covered by the privacy policy.
